2012 red papaya and yellow papaw largest ever harvest expected

With the 2012, red papaya and yellow papaw industry are expecting their largest harvest. Former Masterchef contestant Alvin Quah has aligned himself with the nations’ growers to promote the harvest and encourage Australian families to eat more of the fruit
It should be noted that Australia produces around 13,000 tonnes of red papaya and yellow papaw annually with more than 99 per cent sold locally.
“Many people don’t know the difference between the two fruits and are unaware that they offer different, distinct and unique flavours.” Alvin Quah commented, “I think the best way to understand the difference between fruits is to try them both,” Quah added.
