Mission Impossible: Fallout

Director Christopher McQuarrie
Starring Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames & Vanessa Kirby
Rated M
Score 4.5/6

Ethan Hunt and his IMF team, along with some familiar allies, race against time after a mission gone wrong.

Following the 6 mission impossible movies has required a similar investment of time that is necessary with the marvel cinematic universe considering that the first Mission Impossible movie starring Tom Cruise was released on May 22nd 1996 (June 26th 1996 in Australia).

A lot of these spy movies after awhile do start to become very similar to the last one that you have seen and it was good to see that Tom Cruise upped the stunts with some of the action sequences most notably with a HALO jump into Paris. Though after stunt sequences like these it leaves you wondering what can be done next? I can’t help but wonder if Fallout will see the end of an ‘Ethan Hunt Saga’.
It was good to see that for the first time in the franchise’s history that there was some directorial continuity with Christopher McQuarrie taking the director’s chair for the second time because Fallout deals with further plans of the Syndicate who featured in Rogue Nation. I enjoyed Vanessa Kirby’s performance as Alanna Mitsopolis and her character’s subtle nod to the first of the Mission impossible movies along with Kirby sounding like Vanessa Redgrave’s character at least once. I also kind of enjoyed what they did with Henry Cavill his character seemed to be a good counterpoint to Cruise’s Ethan Hunt.
