An employee at a weapons factory discovers that an energy drink turns his co-workers into zombies.
I have not heard anything about Office Rising, I don’t remember seeing any trailers for it at the friendly neighbourhood cinema and considering that Sony Crackle is involved with its distribution, it’s a fair call that Office Rising was a direct to DVD release.
I really wasn’t that familiar with any of the filmmakers involved with making this, as it turns out this looks to be the second feature film that director Lin Oeding has worked on. Looking at his filmography it looks like he is primarily known for his stunt work though he directed episodes for various TV Series.
I’m not overly familiar with Brenton Thwaites’ and Jane Levy’s work though I have come across their work before. I was a little surprised when the credits roll to find that Zachery Levi was cast as one of the department bosses in this. Thwaites, Levy and Levi all gave pretty good performances and I hope to be a little more familiar with Karan Soni’s work.
While Office Uprising is a watchable movie, in the sense that it was not a chore on in anyway painful to watch, I still could not shake the feeling that feeling that the overall story was bland, that being said there was a few interesting moments scattered throughout the movie. This is supposed to be an Action, Comedy, Horror movie. Personally, I really did not find the ‘horror’ elements of Office Uprising to be that scarey. I suppose we can chalk this up to lack of experience on the part of Oeding and the film’s tiny budget. It seems that Office Uprising could have been capable of so much more if it had slightly a larger budget.
