The Soul Movers had the musical streets buzzing with the release of their first single You Better Believe It!. Now fans have had a taste of the retro-flavoured power and song-writing integrity, Stop, Take A Minute will have them grooving in their tracks. The Soul Movers (featuring Lizzie Mack on lead vocals and ex-Red Wiggle and ARIA Hall of Famer Murray Cook on guitar) had a groove and a laugh at themselves while generating their second single, Stop, Take A Minute but also wrapped a serious message about respect and taking action while watching out for your mates in trouble.
“We are offering a message of empowerment to a younger generation to stand up and demand change when they see inequity and exclusion,” says singer/songwriter Lizzie Mack. “We believe that music IS a powerful and galvanizing art form, one that works beautifully in that it knows no boundaries of race or sex.”
Many of guitarist Murray Cook’s first-generation Wiggles fans are now 20-somethings who are open to positive and inspiring messages from his generation for their generation.
“We’d love these messages to ‘get into people’s heads’,” says Murray Cook. “I’m really hoping that this young generation of men see that violence again women is unacceptable on any level – physical, psychological – it just has to stop. The Stop, Take A Minute message is very powerful – stop, take a minute to take a deep breath and think about what you are doing – before you do something you regret – and something that can never be taken back”. Cook added.
