Set against the civil war in Sierra Leone in the 90’s a South African mercenary Danny Archer and a Mende fisherman Solomon Vandy join in a quest to recover a rare pink diamond.

Blood Diamond is a brilliant Movie it deals with the global trade of conflict diamonds and the harsh toll taken on the people in African conflict zones. This brutality is something that global community is conveniently willing to ignore to maintain a constant supply of diamonds. All of the lead actors where brilliant in the movie, while Jennifer Connelly had a very urban look that really contrasted with Hounsou and Dicaprio which truly paid dividends though the film. Djimon Hounsou truly shined he seems to be an actor that has a chameleon like quality that leaves to excel at his craft.
