Twenty years after the events of Iron Sky, the former Nazi Moonbase has become the last refuge of mankind. Earth was devastated by a nuclear war, but buried deep under the wasteland lies a power that could save the last of humanity – or destroy it once and for all.
I posted my review the first Iron Sky on May 11 2012 and for hose of you who might be wondering no I did not re-watch it before watching The Coming Race and if you are going to go looking for this one I suggest Google Play or your friendly neighbourhood DVD store.
I did not find myself laughing out loud a lot while watching The Coming Race thought there was some very amusing scenes such as the shirtless dancing Putin and that there is Jobsism, a cult formed around the teachings of Steve Jobs. In light of the Mysterious Insanity Movies that I watched I have to say that The Iron Sky Universe is more capable at using ‘Moon Nazis’ then anything that The Asylum has produced such as Nazis at the Center of the Earth, though admittedly The Asylum set the bar at a level that could cleared by somebody in a wheelchair.
I really wasn’t that familiar with anybody who was cast in this, I was surprised by the passing resemblance Udo Kier had with Malcolm McDowell. I also enjoyed the onscreen chemistry between Obianaju “Obi” Washington and Sasha portrayed by Lara Rossi and Vladimir Burlakov. I also loved Rossi’s narration as Washington which occasionally broke the fourth wall.
