A group of desert terrorists kidnap the civilians. A team of rabbit commando, Packy and Botasky, from the Carrot Mystery Service, a private military company, witness a murder of an escaping hostage. Afraid that the rest of the hostages will undergo the same situation, the team demands backup. However, the backup arrival time will be too late for the hostages.
I kind of stumbled across this and I have watched this twice in the past two days. Apparently, this was adapted from a three volume manga series written and illustrated by Motofumi Kobayashi. From what I have read about the manga, the only difference between the Manga and the animated short is that the short is set in the Middle East while the Manga is set in Vietnam.
A war movie involving anthropomorphic animals, I’m not sure what I was expecting from Cat Shit One, but I certainly wasn’t expecting a movie that was as serious as this. There was something so menacingly cute about the rabbit commandos Packy and Botasky that caused me to give this watch this twice. Each time that I watched this I found myself just as emotionally invested in the fate of Packy and Botasky as if they where portrayed by human actors.
