It’s clear that DOA is aimed at the 14 to 16 year old male Playstation 2-playing demographic. I strongly recommend that everybody else gives this one a wide berth, even when it makes it to DVD. The female leads in this movie need to go back to acting school and learn their trade before they attempt any role in future feature films. Perhaps they should give up acting altogether if DOA is the best the can do.

There were comical moments that were glimmers in the dust of this movie, but they are too few and far between to save it.

This is director Corey Yuen’s second attempt at directing an English speaking movie. Could a different director have breathed life into the corspe? No. The plot is to simplistic and has been done to death by more capable directors – Fighters from around the world are invited to a competition to see who is the best. However, kudos goes to the producers for their ability to sell snow to Eskimos and convince investors to part with hard earned money for what ultimately was such a poor showing.
