In order to claim his inheritance, a born loser travels the country with his childhood friends to prove he can be a winner. Ish.
As I have admitted to in the past some of the movies that I sit down to watch are spur of the moment decisions. Considering that Wheels of Fortune is currently on Netflix and it was late at night when I started watching this, so I am going to say that this was another spur of the moment of decision.
In retrospect it might not have been the best of decisions because Wheels of Fortune is a predictable and stupid movie. The way the plot was structured it was something that was done before and, in all honesty, will continue to be done. The only thing that the filmmakers did differently for this kind of thing was use the backdrop of motorsports. I suppose the question needs to be asked is it so stupid that its good? Perhaps. It should also be noted that this is the type of movie that tries to be extreme but does successfully pull it off, I suppose that could be because of lack of budget.
I went into this movie completely unfamiliar with pretty much everybody involved with this movie, the only actor I was even vaguely familiar with was Jeff Fahey, who had a role in my favourite western Ghost Rock. But what Wheels of Fortune did have was friendship and heart. I loved the performances of Matt Jones, Noureen DeWulf and Matty Cardarople. I’ll say it again this is a stupid movie, but these actors made me care about their characters and that carried me through the movie.
