Okay, I know it is an odd thing to say but the experience of watching Night of the Sicario can be best summed with the sad trombone ‘wah wah wah’ sound. I will admit that the plot of Night of the Sicario made it seem like a promising movie. However, the promising concept that was Night of the Sicario was let down by its cast and crew. Before we get to far into things one thing needs to be made perfectly clear Night of the Sicario has nothing to do with the 2015 movie directed by Denis Villeneuve Sicario and its subsequent sequel Sicario: Day of the Soldado. It should also be noted that Night of the Sicario is formerly known as Blindsided.
It has been more then a few years since I last saw either Natasha Henstridge or Costas Mandylor in a movie or for that matter a starring role. Mandylor’s performance seemed like a bad joke without an actual punchline. I suppose I should be merciful and let this off the hook because of its budget. No, I cannot do that even with its religious themes. Night of the Sicario’s bad effects, cheesy soundtrack, poor pacing and at best questionable action has landed it in the territory of The Asylum without having to have been produced by The Asylum. Congratulations.
