Sponsored Content noun: material in an online publication which resembles the publication’s editorial content but is paid for by an advertiser and intended to promote the advertiser’s product. The cash for comment affair was an Australian scandal that broke in 1999 concerning paid advertising in radio that was presented to the audience in such a way as to sound like editorial commentary. For those of you who might not have realised I am based in Canberra, Australia and personally because of The Cash for Comment Affair I look at opportunities such as Sponsored Content a little differently. Oh and on a personal note I was 17 in 1999.
Recently I was approached again about the prospect of Sponsored content. Its nice to feel wanted. Now in the past I have past on the opportunities because well the emails felt as they where slightly dodgey and the most recent email I don’t want to go into the whole story as to why I refused the opportunity but the fact that the sponsored content had something to do with an online casino and not wanting their article to be labeled as sponsored content.
For the record Yes I am open to the possibility of sponsored content.
Now if you have any sponsored content opportunities for me, this is what I will do for you:
- Tell me EXACTLY what the sponsored Content is about I will not even consider giving you a price regarding posting Sponsored Content until I know what your article is about.
- Sponsored Articles about Online Gambling and “Adult Special Interest” articles will never be considered.
- All sponsored Articles will be labeled as Sponsored Articles. There will be no effort to make a Sponsored Article to be anything other then a Sponsored Article. I will promote the article as a Sponsored Article on all of The Movie Boards’ social media accounts.
- Prices depend on what the Sponsored Article is about and how long it is.
- Sponsored Articles will NEVER contain internal links to any previous article posted on The Movie Boards.
