Deceived that he had won the Prize, Connor MacLeod awakens from a peaceful life when an entombed immortal magician comes seeking the Highlander.
For those of you playing along at home and just might not have realised there are five live action Highlander movies and one animated movie. Highlander (1986), Highlander II: The Quickening (1991), Highlander III: The Sorcerer (1994), Highlander: Endgame (2000), Highlander: The Search for Vengeance (2007), Highlander: The Source (2007). Highlander: The Final Dimension is also known as Highlander III: The Sorcerer.
I’ve been meaning to watch this one for awhile but getting hold of a DVD copy of number 2 proved to be a little easier then getting hold of a DVD copy of number 3. I will admit that when I first watched Highlander 3 back some time when it was first released on VHS I have vague memories of not really liking it that much, it’s one of those movies that has grown on me over time (just like the second sequel) but it is still miles away from being able to be considered anything spectacular. What could have saved the first two sequels was their release order. What I enjoyed about the movie was Mako’’s performance in the first act of the movie as the immortal Nakano. I also liked the callbacks to the first movie like with the investigating police officer and how similar the moments of the third act of the original are with the final act of the number 3.
