A salvage expert Dirk Pitt sets out across africa in search of a lost Civil War Iornclad with a cargo of Confederate gold. While a doctor with the World Health Organisation Eva Rojas is investigating the source of a mysterious diease. Pitt and Rojas end discovering the truth behind the outbreak of the disease, a truth that could affect the entire world.

McConaughey is brilliant in Sahara as he seems to ooze self confidence and has a brilliant onscreen presence that shows why he has been voted one of the sexiest men alive. Steve Zahn works his magic in this film as he is the ultimate partner for any action or comedy combination. I wonder, has Zahn been used as a leading man in a feature film? Does he have what it takes to be the leading man in a feature film?.
