Since his rise to power, Mathayus’ kingdom has fallen. Now an assassin for hire, he must defend a kingdom from an evil tyrant and his ghost warriors for the chance to regain the power and glory he once knew.
The filmmakers involved with the making of Scorpion King 3 committed the cardinal sin of film franchises; they failed to retain the services of a key actor from the previous film. Though I found interesting that the Victor Webster who was chosen to portray the character of Mathayus possibly could have passed for Billy Zane’s stunt double. The sound effects in the majority of the fight sequences seemed to be overdone. Sound is all around us, I get that but maybe somebody can explain it to me the benefits of making the sounds in the fight sequences sound as if the where put through a sub-woofer. I suppose that there were a couple of good points about this movie that there seemed to be some good buddy chemistry between Bostin Christopher and Victor Webster including the fact that the origin of one of the key plot points of the mummy movies was actually established.
