A bouncer with a slightly murderous anger-management problem that she controls with the help of an electrode-lined vest she uses to shock herself back to normalcy whenever she gets homicidal.

Jolt is one of those movies I can’t help but wonder why it took me so long to finally get around to finally watching it. The narration at the beginning by Susan Sarandon had me immediately hooked. As you would expect Kate Beckinsale gave the charming kind of performance that you would expect from her but that combined with the chaotic action sequences and the movie’s sense of humor left me hoping that there will be a sequel, which you would expect from this sort of movie. There’s that long running argument about women leading action movies Milla Jovovich is more than capable though the Resident Evil Franchise ultimately turned into something of a bloated mess and Beckinsale should definitely be considered for more action movies after her performance as Lindy Lewis. It was good to see Jai Courtney pop up this I think the last time I saw him in a movie was in the second of the suicide squad movies.Beckinsale was brilliant in her scenes with   Stanley Tucci. Watching this I was reminded of the Crank movies directed by Neveldine & Taylor  while some of the fantasy sequences reminded me of the 2021 movie Major Grom: Plague Doctor directed by Oleg Trofim. I will admit that the climax didn’t go in the direction that I thought it would, yet it was still a satisfying direction to go.
