The top fundraising Donation Dogs at Coles have been revealed for the 2023 financial year with Coles Liverpool taking out the coveted “Top Dog” award. With the help and generosity of Coles customers, more than $830,000 was raised for Guide Dogs last financial year from Donation Dogs at the front of more than 900 Coles and Coles Liquor stores across Australia. Funds raised at Coles supermarkets, Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars stores will help Guide Dogs to breed, raise and train dogs as well as provide services such as occupational therapy, orientation and mobility, assistive technology, advocacy and more.
Coles’ Top Dogs will be recognised with a special rosette and visit from Ambassador Dogs and puppies in training to thank customers and team members.
Guide Dogs Dog Training and Service Delivery Manager Eddie Sullivan thanked Coles and its team members and customers for their support.
“When I see our coin Donation Dogs in Coles stores, I realise how even just a small amount can have a big impact. A lot of people approach me to say that their first experience supporting Guide Dogs, or a charity was when their parents used to let them put some coins into the Donation Dog at Coles. Many years later, they still support us.” Mr. Sullivan commented “It’s wonderful to know, even after all that time, our Donation Dogs hold a special place in the hearts of Coles customers and team members – so thank you to anyone who has donated. You are helping Guide Dogs empower people with low vision or blindness to actively participate in their communities.”

Coles Group General Manager Corporate & Indigenous Affairs Sally Fielke said Coles was extremely proud its Donation Dogs program for Guide Dogs Australia.
“Coles has a long and proud history with Guide Dogs, raising more than $14 million over 40 years through initiatives such as Donation Dogs, community bags and team member fundraising to help support Australians living with low vision or blindness,” Ms Fielke commented “The Donation Dogs sit proudly in Coles stores across Australia as a reminder of the great work Guide Dogs do in the community and we can’t thank our customers enough for keeping them well fed over the past financial year.”
