Okay, it’s been more than a little while since I last reviewed a children’s movie. Now, there might be a few of you out there who have heard me joke about the whole concept of a ‘Rent-a-Kid’ movie, being the type of movie that you take your young Nephew or Niece to because you secretly want to see it too. Is The Furry Fortune a ‘Rent-a-Kid’ movie? No not really but it should be noted that it’s not the type of movie that is going to cause you to be plotting vegetable related vengeance should you ever be forced to watch it. For those of you who might be playing along at home The Furry Fortune was adapted from a 2007 D. Goode Morgan book titled The Furry Fortune: The Dog Whose Fur Turns Into Money!




The Furry Fortune might not be the best shot movie, some of the dialogue sounded if it had been recorded badly and then there was the whole dumb parents cliche (which I suppose is better then the absentee parents cliche) but is still a watchable movie about the importance of family. Though there is one line of dialogue about pizza I’d be interested in hearing what people thought of it. Structuring the movie so that it was being retold by the twins via voiceover was a good move by writer/director Justin Ward. I enjoyed the performances of Juju Journey Brener and Mason Blomberg as the twins Zoey and Dax and Mason Wells as Odom Kearst. It will be interesting to see how many movies their careers take.
