Yes, it’s been a little while sine I last watched a ‘Teen Movie’ and definitely even longer since I last watched Accepted. With Accepted closing in in being 20 years old it’s interesting to see that it appears that Accepted hasn’t started down the path that so many others have gone down and aged to the point that it’s uncomfortable to watch, though I certainly didn’t have the same this hilarious and cool attitude to the plot. Instead, Accepted has an interesting point to make about the importance of college in American society and the talk about debt forgiveness.Though if you have a pressing need to get in touch with your inner child you might consider the Jonathan Prince movie from 1994 Camp Nowhere. Come to think of it the two might make for a good mini-marathon. Lewis Black was brilliant as Uncle Ben, based on what I’ve seen of his stand-up it’s easy to assume that there wasn’t much acting on his part. This is also interesting early roles of Justin Long and Jonah Hill. I suppose it could be argued that Long’s role of Bartleby followed in the tradition set down by Ferris Bueller back in the 80’s.
