Billed as a true story about a secret British World War II organization; the Special Operations Executive. Founded by Winston Churchill, their irregular warfare against the Germans helped to change the course of the war, and gave birth to modern black operations.

We all know that if I wasn’t such a good procrastinator I’d be a nationally ranked procrastinator. That being said I do have a small bone to pick with The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare being the supposed April 19th 2024 release date in Australia only to see The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare be given a Prime Video release date on July 25th 2024. An annoying dick move by the executives-that-be in regard to The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, though I might not get answer I still feel the need to ask, why the two release dates?

As strange as it might seem The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare gives off the vibe of being more of an “Action” movie then a “World War 2” movie, it should be noted that even though this is billed as “true story” but even though the protagonists existed, the movie portrays a heavily fictionalised version of Operation Postmaster. Even though the movie was hit with an R rating (outside of Australia) the action didn’t really come off as being gorey until the final act of the movie. It should also be noted that the movie is based on Based on the 2014 book Churchill’s Secret Warriors: The Explosive True Story of the Special Forces Desperadoes of WWII by Damien Lewis. There’s a lot to love about The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, I haven’t seen Henry Cavil go so “British” with his portrayal of  Gus March -Phillipps before. I was surprised that Rory Kinnear didn’t go with the stereotypical portrayal of Churchill. I was also surprised to see that Til Schweiger, I loved his performance as Heinrich Luhr and the chemistry he had with Eiza González.
