Deputy leader of the Canberra Liberal party and Shadow Minister for Gaming and Racing, Brendan Smyth put forward a proposal to the legislative assembly of the Australian Capital Territory for the establishment of a Gaming Advisory Board. Mr. Smyth commented that the primary purpose of the Gaming Advisory Board will be to provide advice to the Gambling and Racing Commission on the disposition of funds that will be used to reduce problem gambling.
“I believe the Gaming Advisory Board will make an important contribution to the development and implementation of sound and effective strategies that will assist in reducing the incidence of problem gambling in the ACT,” Mr Smyth said.
