When a madman begins committing horrific murders inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s works, a young Baltimore detective joins forces with Poe to stop him from making his stories a reality.
This movie is a brilliant piece of what could considered to be ‘speculative fiction’ considering that there is so much speculation surrounding the final days of Edgar Allan Poe. Despite how dark this movie could have gotten, especially considering that it is a ‘serial killer’ movie there was some rather well written lighter moments between Alice Eve and John Cusack. The Pair seemed to have a lovely onscreen chemistry. I was actually surprised to see Alice Eve pop in The Raven considering the last time I actually remembering seeing her in a movie role was in the romantic comedy She’s Out of my League. It seems that she is proving to be an actress capable of any genre.
