The Royal Australian Mint and EMK Coins and Precious Metals, have released a new coin series that will feature Australia Zoo’s saltwater crocodiles.
“Crocodiles are an important part of our ecosystem and Australia Zoo plays a very important role in helping us better understand them,” said Mr Ripoll.
Terri Irwin said it was special to have a coin featuring Steve’s favourite crocodile launched on Steve Irwin Day.
“Today is a day to celebrate what Steve was so passionate about, especially wildlife and wilderness conservation. Steve also loved Bindi the crocodile so much that he named our daughter after her,” said Terri Irwin.
“We are proud to partner with the Royal Australian Mint and Australia Zoo and spread the word globally of what Australia Zoo does and how important it is to support the protection of animals like Bindi,” said Mr Michael Kuffner, EMK representative.
