Edward (Teddy) Brown is obsessed with cricket. His whole life has revolved around the game, his park cricket team and his mates. Now that they’ve hit their mid-thirties, his friends are starting to move on, trading in the team for their careers, wives, mortgages and kids. With the team on the brink of extinction and in an effort to keep his mates passion for the pitch alive and convinces his boss Sanjeet to let the Anglers represent Australia on a cricket tour of India.

In the wake of the Australian Cricket team’s performance losing two straight test matches in the current Ashes series, I can’t help but wonder, should the Abbotsford Anglers be called up for Ashes duty?

But all joking aside this is a good movie that was inspired by Boyd Hicklin’s documentary about the real Abbotsford Anglers tour of India 2001. Now even though on the face of it Save your legs! is a sports movie it has something for everybody and does not go and beat you to death with the ‘this is a sports movie’ stick.
In a lot of ways it seemed the character of Edward “Teddy” Brown was very similar to the character of Jim from the Australian movie I love you too, this was because both characters where in similar stages of their lives, waiting for that inspiration to have a crack at life .
