Haunted by the memory of her deceased mother, Dana leaves Malibu behind and heads to South Africa to fulfill her mother’s dream of surfing Jeffery’s Bay.
Blue Crush 2 can be described as a non-sequel sequel, which in my mind is one of the worst instances of film crime. A film should be considered a non-sequel sequel is when a filmmaker makes a film that has no linear storyline with its ‘namesake’ and tacks the number two on the end of the title.
This could not have been a more clichéd movie even if it tried; the only truly positive thing going for this movie was the South African countryside and wilderness. The acting really was not that impressive and now that I have had a little time to think about it, Blue Crush 2 is almost a carbon image of 2008 movie ‘Wild Child’. They both explore dynamic of a fractured Daughter and Father Relationship. At your local video store should you ever be faced with choice between Blue Crush 2 and Wild Child I would recommend that you hire Wild Child.
