A DEA agent and a naval intelligence officer find themselves on the run after a botched attempt to infiltrate a drug cartel. While fleeing, they learn the secret of their shaky alliance: Neither knew that the other was an undercover agent.
2 Guns was fun to watch, it was not trying to be anything more than that. Before going to watch this one I heard a review suggesting that 2 Guns tried to be too many things all at once, maybe that reviewer was right but it is not necessarily a bad thing as he was suggesting. I got the feeling that this mixing of genres was part of the reason why practically everybody else in the cinema seemed to be watching the movie with their significant other. Washington and Wahlberg worked well together as a ‘buddy cop’ pairing these two might not be on the same level as Gibson and Glover, but I would love to see the pair cast together in any possible sequels.
For those of you who don’t know 2 guns was based on a graphic novel of the same name written by Steven Grant.
