Victorian Premier Denis Napthine recently opened the new Little Creatures Brewery in South Geelong following a $60 million investment by Lion that will create 50 new jobs.
“From a Victorian Government perspective we have also secured Geelong as the national headquarters for the National Disability Insurance Agency involving up to 450 jobs while we have also made a commitment to relocating Workcover to Geelong and the 550 jobs it entails. “Geelong is in a transition period, but I am confident it has a bright future with new investment highlighted today by the opening of Lion’s $60 million Little Creatures Brewery,” Dr Napthine said.
Dr Napthine pointed out that the investment from Lion would double brewing capacity in Australia for Little Creatures, which also operates a brewery in Fremantle.
Member for South Barwon Andrew Katos welcomed the opening of the brewery.
“It is great for our region having the well-known and successful Little Creatures Brewery open in South Geelong. The Brewery will be a fantastic tourist draw card and will boost our local economy,” Mr Katos said.
