After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America’s ideals.

This is the last ‘solo hero’ before the release of The Avengers next May. As a ‘Comic book’ movie, this really is not that special, the only thing that you can really expect of a ‘comic book’ movie is that there will be an unnecessary 3D theatrical version released. By itself, Captain America is a watchable movie with explosions in the right place things seemed to be a little to ‘cookie cutter’ for my taste. Hugo Weaving gave a brilliant performance as the villain Red Skull, what’s really brilliant is that Weaving has given a string of brilliant performances as the villain in several ‘comic book’ movies.
