This might be a little different to most of my other reviews for the simple reason that with this revisit I’m rolling three movies into one review, if this review is written with any degree of success is yet to be seen. The reason for all of this was because July 3rd was the 30th anniversary of the release of the first instalment of the Back to The Future trilogy, and for that spot of personal geographical relevance August 15th was the 30th anniversary for the Australian release. I have to admit that of the trilogy my favourite movies would be the first and the third movies over the second. Why? Because in the first movie Marty got to see his parents in a completely different light, which probably made them to be a little bit more human to him and because I feel that the Johnny B Goode scene still holds up to this day. As for the third movie? Well I have a bit of a soft spot for Westerns.
This doesn’t make the second movie in the trilogy some unwatchable piece of trash, each movie is as watchable as the other. In another review I spoke of how the sign of a good movie is that the sign of a good movie is when you’re watching it, it should not feel like a chore to watch a movie. I know that this might sound to be a touch simplistic but it’s the truth because sure as hell know that it’s the same with the bad movies that I have watched because there has been more than a few times that I have questioned my own will to live while watching a crappy movie or at the very least wanted to waste an hour and half of the director’s time because they had just wasted my time. Now getting back to the movies I felt what could only be described as warm nostalgic feeling in the pit of my stomach that suggests that this trilogy will remain to be watchable at least until a hover board becomes commercially available to the general public.
