Festival Founder, Bill Hauritz, is eager to unveil the new festival layout with a heavy focus on the visual aesthetic with new sculptures, bars and venues. Hauritz added that a taste of what’s to come was unveiled at the sunset concert in Happy Valley Caloundra on Friday eve, in the form of a giant 10 x 7 metre heart sculpture made as part of Woodford’s Flowerfield project, decorated by hundreds of hand-crafted flowers created by the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay communities.
“While the atmosphere is always great, we think the huge improvements in the visual impact this year will take the festival to a new level. We want people to be moved by the art and the decor,” Hauritz said.
Hauritz explained that Katie Noonan debuted her newly commissioned song United in Sound accompanied by the Sunshine Coast Woodford Welcome Orchestra, conducted by local musician and composer Andrew Veivers. The performance showcased a stunning sneak peek of the Festival’s Welcome Ceremony which will be held on December 27th.
