Entry dates for the annual St Kilda Film Festival competitions have been extended, with Australia’s Top 100 short film competition and The SoundKILDA music video competition remaining open until Sunday 14 February 2016.
The St Kilda Film Festival is one of Australia’s few publicly owned film festivals and the City of Port Phillip’s Mayor Bernadene Voss is thrilled to welcome it back for 2016. “We’re extending the call for entries for the 2016 St Kilda Film Festival to give Australian filmmakers and industry professionals further opportunity to have their creations enjoyed by the public. The St Kilda Film Festival belongs to our community and the City of Port Phillip is proud to produce and present this “must-­‐see” cultural event,” Cr Voss commented.
Cr Voss explained that a new addition to the festival in 2016 will be the competition screening of the I LOVE LIVE MUSIC 60-­‐ second short film competition. In partnership with The Australian Music Industry Network and Live Music Office, this short film competition is part of a new national initiative to showcase the importance of Australian contemporary live music. Ten finalists will be chosen, with the overall winner announced at SoundKILDA with a host of prizes on offer including cash and in-­‐kind rewards. Entries are now open until April 1st.
