A French police unit that try to stop a group of criminals.

I think that Tantelise might of been on to something when she asked question on The Movie Boards’ Facebook page ‘is this the year for the most remakes?’ especially when you throw The Sweeney: Paris into the mix. A remake of the 2012 release The Sweeney starring Ray Winstone and Directed by Nick Love, which of course is a remake of the 70’s British television series starring John Thaw and its two subsequent spin off movies that also stared Thaw.
Remakes are not necessarily a bad thing (though yes I might of said on more than one occasion words to the effect that it shows a degree of laziness on the part of filmmakers) but the period of time between the ‘source material’ and its subsequent remake needs to be at least 10 years, especially when the remake is a shot-for-shot reader’s digest version of the 2012 version which is 112 minutes long a whole 20 minutes longer then the French remake.
The Sweeney: Paris wasn’t the best of movies though come to think of it wasn’t the worst action movie I have seen recently either it was just a very ‘by the numbers’ kind of movie. The only possible problem was the casting of Jean Reno in the ‘Regan’ role who had more of a mountain man look then the look of a tough as nails police detective.
