Goldie Hawn has announced that she will add an exclusive fundraiser luncheon to her itinerary during her trip to Melbourne in November. The lunch will be held on 14 November, 2016.
Presented by Events to the Stars, Ms Hawn will be touching down in Melbourne for the first time this November to host a leadership luncheon set to be as inspirational as she is – all in support of her Hawn Foundation. A spokesperson for Events to the Stars said that the soon to be 70-year-old actor, producer, and director is also the leader of a foundation that teaches mindfulness to more than 1 million children around the world. Whilst she may be best known – and much loved – for her on-screen characters, Ms. Hawn has spent the last 14 years working with a team of neuroscientists, psychologists, meditators and educators to develop her MindUP program. A product of The Hawn Foundation, MindUP is designed to help children learn to focus, including through meditation, and take charge of their emotions.
“Children take to meditation like a duck to water,” Ms. Hawn commented “The brain is like any other muscle, it needs to be trained – and less-stressed children make for calmer, well-balanced adults.”
The Events to the Stars spokesperson commented that a true practitioner of what her foundation preaches, Ms. Hawn has written three books, 10 Mindful Minutes and its follow up journal, and A Lotus Grows in the Mud, both of which reveal the incredibly insightful side to this effervescent lady. It is her insight and inspiration that will be the draw-card for the leadership luncheon, proceeds of which will be donated to the Hawn Foundation. As a lady who truly does seem to have it all, Ms. Hawn will candidly discuss her life in the Hollywood spotlight, her ability to expand her five-decade Hollywood career beyond the screen, and how she has stayed relevant, in demand, and grounded.
